In-Home Caregivers in Las Vegas, NV
Finding the right caregiver for an aging parent or loved one is one of the most important decisions a family in Las Vegas can make. The right person brings not only skill and patience, but trust — someone you feel safe leaving alone with the person you love.
Family Personal Care LLC has been matching Las Vegas families with vetted, compassionate in-home caregivers for more than a decade. Every caregiver we send is background-checked, trained by our team, and supervised by a local care coordinator. We handle the hiring, scheduling, and backup coverage — so you can focus on being a family member again, not a recruiter.
Whether you need a few hours of help each week or around-the-clock care, we build a schedule around your loved one’s routine, not ours.
Free 30-minute care consultation. Call (702) 906-1999 or request a visit online. A care coordinator will meet with you in your home, assess the level of care needed, and walk you through your options — no obligation.
What does an in-home caregiver do?
An in-home caregiver (sometimes called a personal care attendant, home care aide, or HCA) provides non-medical support that helps older adults and people with disabilities stay safely and comfortably in their own home. At Family Personal Care, our caregivers are trained to assist with a wide range of everyday needs, always tailored to the individual care plan.
Typical caregiver duties fall into five categories:
- Personal care — bathing, showering, toileting, incontinence care, dressing, grooming, oral care, and safe transfers from bed to chair.
- Companion care — conversation, friendly company, games and hobbies, light exercise or stretching at home, reading together, and reassurance for someone who lives alone or has memory changes.
- Homemaker & light housekeeping — laundry, bed making, dusting, vacuuming, kitchen cleanup, meal preparation, and taking out the trash.
- Errand support (done for the client, not with the client) — grocery shopping, pharmacy pickup, and dropping off dry cleaning so your loved one has what they need without leaving home.
- Medication and appointment reminders — verbal reminders only; our caregivers are non-medical and do not administer or dispense medications.
For couples or individuals who need overnight help, we also provide 24-hour shift care with built-in rest periods that comply with Nevada labor rules. Who our caregivers help
We serve adults across a wide range of needs in Las Vegas, Henderson, Summerlin, North Las Vegas, and surrounding Clark County communities. Some of the most common situations we support include:
- Seniors who want to age in place and avoid moving to assisted living.
- Family caregivers who are exhausted and need regular respite breaks.
- Adults recovering from surgery, a fall, a stroke, or a hospital stay.
- People living with Alzheimer’s, dementia, Parkinson’s, or other chronic conditions.
- Adults with physical disabilities who need help with bathing, transfers, or day-to-day routines.
- Out-of-town adult children who want a trusted local set of eyes and ears on Mom or Dad.
If your situation isn’t listed here, call us anyway — most of our care plans are custom, and we’ll tell you honestly whether in-home care is the right fit.
How we vet and train our caregivers
A caregiver is going to be inside your loved one’s home, often alone with them. That trust has to be earned before we ever send someone to a client. Our hiring pipeline filters out roughly 95% of applicants before an offer is ever made.
Every Family Personal Care caregiver is:
- Background-checked through state and federal databases before hire, with ongoing monitoring.
- TB-tested and CPR/First Aid certified before client placement.
- Interviewed in person by our staff — not just by phone.
- Trained on our in-house care standards: infection control, safe transfers, dementia-friendly communication, fall prevention, and emergency response.
- Employed directly by Family Personal Care — never 1099 contractors.
Caregivers are matched to clients based on personality, schedule, language, and care needs. If a match isn’t working, we’ll swap at no cost, and we always have a vetted backup caregiver on standby.
How much does a caregiver cost in Las Vegas?
In-home caregiving costs in the Las Vegas metro area generally range from about $28 to $38 per hour, depending on the type of care, the length of the shift, and whether you hire through an agency or privately. Longer shifts (8+ hours) and 24-hour arrangements are usually priced at a lower blended rate.
Most families pay for care using a combination of:
- Private pay — out-of-pocket payment, typically billed weekly.
- Long-term care insurance — we work with most major policies and will help you file claims.
- Nevada Medicaid & ADSD waiver programs — including Personal Care Services (PCS) and the Home and Community-Based Waiver for eligible seniors and adults with disabilities.
Our care coordinator will walk you through every payment option that applies to your situation. There’s no cost or pressure for the consultation. For a deeper dive on what care typically costs in Las Vegas, see our 2026 cost guide.

Frequently Asked Questions — In-Home Caregivers in Las Vegas
What is the difference between personal care and home health care?
Personal care is non-medical assistance with activities of daily living — bathing, dressing, grooming, meal prep, and mobility support. Home health care is medical care delivered at home by licensed nurses or therapists. Family Personal Care provides personal care services only; we do not provide medical or clinical care.
How many hours of personal care per day does my loved one need?
That depends entirely on your loved one’s individual needs and daily schedule. Some clients need just a few hours of morning care; others benefit from full-day support. We’ll work with you to build a care plan that fits your family’s needs and budget.
Can personal care aides provide medication management in Nevada?
In Nevada, non-medical personal care aides can provide medication reminders — prompting clients to take their scheduled medications at the right time. They cannot administer medications or make medical decisions. If skilled medication management is needed, a home health nurse would be appropriate.
Does Medicare cover personal care services in Las Vegas?
Original Medicare (Parts A and B) generally does not cover non-medical personal care. Some Medicare Advantage plans may include limited coverage. Nevada Medicaid and ADSD Waiver programs may cover personal care for qualifying individuals. Contact us at (702) 906-1999 and we’ll help you understand your options.
How do I get started with personal care services from Family Personal Care?
Call us at (702) 906-1999 or fill out our contact form. We’ll schedule a free in-home consultation to assess your loved one’s needs, answer your questions, and build a personalized care plan. There is no obligation to enroll after the consultation.
What’s the difference between a caregiver and a home health aide?
A caregiver (personal care aide, HCA) provides non-medical help with daily living — bathing, dressing, meals, housekeeping, companionship. A home health aide is a medical role that also performs clinical tasks like wound care or vital-sign monitoring, and is usually ordered by a doctor and paid by Medicare for a short time after a hospital stay. Family Personal Care provides non-medical caregivers only. See our full guide on caregiver vs. home health aide.
Do your caregivers drive clients to appointments?
No. Our caregivers are non-medical in-home caregivers and do not transport clients in any vehicle. We are happy to run errands for the client — picking up groceries or prescriptions and bringing them back to the home.
Can I get a caregiver for just a few hours a week?
Yes. Our minimum visit is two hours, and many clients use us for as little as eight to twelve hours per week. We also staff daily, overnight, and 24-hour schedules.
Will my loved one have the same caregiver every time?
Yes — consistency is one of our core commitments. We try to keep the same primary caregiver on every shift, with a vetted substitute on standby if the primary is unavailable.
Does Medicare pay for a caregiver?
Generally no. Medicare covers short-term skilled medical home health after a hospital stay, not ongoing non-medical caregiving. Ongoing in-home care is usually paid through private funds, long-term care insurance, or Nevada Medicaid/ADSD waiver programs for those who qualify.
How quickly can care start?
Most new clients are staffed within three to five business days. For urgent hospital discharges we can often start within 24–48 hours.
Do you offer overnight or 24/7 care?
Yes. We offer hourly daytime, overnight awake shifts, and 24-hour rotating shifts. Our coordinator can explain which model best fits your loved one’s condition and budget.
